St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis chose to do an article about my experience based on the recent recollection of my ARDS experience, and my visit back to see some of my caregivers from SEVENTEEN years ago. I thought I would share for those interested. If you're struggling, tell someone, get help. You're worth it. Thank you to all the members of this group, Eileen Rubin, and the ARDS Foundation for all of your support and encouragement during my recovery!

A number that means so many things to Michael Hurley, a former pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) patient who was 17 more than 17 years ago during a life-defining experience. “The first couple of nights, my doctors tried their best to prepare my family for the worst: that I was very sick, and my odds of surviving were not good.” Read his inspiring story 💙: http://bit.ly/2x76L9J Kudos to our amazing care team, who Michael refers to as his "Dream Team," which includes (pictured from left with him) Susan Chernoff, RN, Karol Craig, RN, Kay Sichting, MD, PICU, and Shelly Schenk, RN, manager, PICU and ECMO. #WeAreAscension
